Organized by the Institute of Technology on Immunobiologicals (Bio-Manguinhos/Fiocruz), the event will take place from 6th to 8th and it will be part of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the institution, which nowadays is the largest public producer of vaccines in Latin America. The period for submitting abstracts will be from February 23rd to March 9th. The Symposium annually brings together specialists, researchers, health professionals and students to discuss cutting-edge topics related to vaccines, biopharmaceuticals and diagnostic reagents, besides presenting advances in technological development, production, management and market in a strategic sector for public health.

“ISI 2026 will take place at a historical moment for Bio-Manguinhos and reinforces our commitment to go beyond the production of vaccines, biopharmaceuticals and diagnostic kits: it is about contributing to the production of knowledge and scientific innovation aiming the development of solutions for the Brazilian Public Health System and for global health,” celebrates Bio-Manguinhos director, Rosane Cuber.

In its tenth edition, ISI celebrates a trajectory marked by scientific excellence, the exchange of knowledge, and the building of strategic partnerships. The symposium will bring together professionals from the public health sector, researchers, and students from Brazil and other countries, creating a dynamic environment directed to international scientific collaboration. The goal of the meeting is to foster scientific and technological development in global health, as well as to increase the visibility of scientific contributions in the field of biotechnology.

The speakers will address topics ranging from vaccines and biopharmaceuticals to diagnostic reagents, including discussions on technological development, production, processing, market dynamics, and management in these segments.

In the last edition, held in May 2025, ISI registered more than 4,800 participants from 13 countries. During the three days of the event, there were 63 speakers in panels and debates, 156 scientific papers were presented, nine works were awarded, and the event got together some of the most renowned experts in immunobiologicals and public health.

“ISI is a strategic space for scientific exchange and integration. The submission of papers strengthens the dissemination of knowledge and innovation in health. It is very important that universities and research institutions encourage the participation of students and young researchers, who will have the opportunity to learn about modern technologies in vaccines and biopharmaceuticals brought by experts,” highlights the coordinator of the Scientific and Technological Committee and one of the founders of the event, Akira Homma.
